How You Will Make An Impact

You play a role in executing both routine and complex analyses, such as microscopy, rheology, and defect analysis, to ensure the quality and security of currency production. You will prepare samples accurately based on provided recipes and instructions, monitor trial materials through processing steps, and perform detailed defect analysis and inspections. By collecting and documenting test samples and results with basic statistics, you provide critical data that supports continuous improvement and innovation in manufacturing processes. You will impact the efficiency, reliability, and security of currency manufacturing, ensuring high standards are consistently met.

• Conducting analyses such as microscopy, rheology, surface tension, contact angle, pH tests, defect analysis, and incoming inspection.
• Accurately and efficiently preparing samples based on recipes and instructions provided by scientists and process engineers.
• Overseeing trial materials through downstream processing steps to ensure quality and consistency.
• Performing detailed defect analysis and organizing incoming inspections to maintain high standards.
• Collecting test samples, recording results, and documenting findings with basic statistics, including tables, graphs, photos, and written reports.
• Conducting various chemical and physical tests on products to ensure they meet the required specifications.
• Executing project tasks with guidance from Project Managers or Functional Managers, including trial planning, execution, follow-up, sample collection, and analysis.
• Adhering to department safety and security expectations, supporting laboratory improvements, and assisting in onboarding new associates.
  
  

Required

Knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role:

• H.S. Diploma or GED or commensurate experience.
• Strong interpersonal verbal and written skills laterally and vertically within organization.
• Ability to perform basic statistical analysis, mathematical calculations and data analysis.
• Demonstrate ability to deliver results in a timely manner.
• Sufficient knowledge to execute tasks independently.
• Track record of consistently and accurately delivering data in direct support of projects and stakeholders.
• For all U.S. positions:Must be a U.S. Citizen with an ability to demonstrate and maintain suitability for employment in a position of Public Trust consistent with our US Government contract requirements.
  
  

Preferred

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or commensurate experience.
• Demonstrated record of participating in trials and projects as a contributing team member under supervision and guidance.
• Experience in performing lab experiments, analytical instrument testing and lab maintenance
• Demonstrates natural curiosity, inquisitiveness and ability to build professional relationships.
• Engaged in learning and leading with a continuous improvement mindset.
