SUMMARY
Under general supervision, oversees school activities to provide support and guidance to teachers to test academic, intellectual, emotional, and physical progress for students. Supervises and evaluates teachers and recommends improvements in instructional practices.

- Supervises, schedules, and observes teachers and assigned staff; provides feedback to teachers regarding instructional practices; participates in the new hire process; provides professional development as appropriate.
- Addresses staff concerns and solicits feedback to create and maintain harmonious working relationships.
- Maintains assigned budgets
- Receives, addresses, and resolves concerns and complaints from parents and students; addresses student disciplinary issues.
- Completes various required reports; maintains records and documents.
- Communicates with parents and families through newsletters, school events, social media posts, student/teacher conferences, and other meetings.
- Facilitates and attends meetings with school and District staff.
- Performs related duties as required or assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Training, and Experience Guidelines
Master’s degree in Education or closely related field; AND three (3) years of teaching experience and two (2) years of experience as an assistant Principal; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Knowledge of:
- State and Federal laws, statutes, and regulations pertaining to education.
- District policies, practices, and procedures.
- Available family, student, and staff resources.
- Instructional styles, practices, and methods.
Skill in:
- Providing effective supervision and leadership to assigned staff.
- Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships.
- Developing long-term and short-term plans.
- Communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
- Managing budgets.
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Must possess Principal Certification from the Arizona Department of Education. A valid State Driver’s License may be required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in a standard office environment and throughout the school campus.
