Description

We are a family-oriented Midwest and East coast based company; with locations in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. As a result of our growth, we have a need for a Project Engineer.

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer with a strong background in water and wastewater systems to manage and execute projects focused on improving water treatment, wastewater management, and infrastructure development. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth technical knowledge, excellent project management skills, and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.

What You Get To Do

Project Management :

  • Lead and manage water and wastewater projects from initiation through to completion, ensuring all phases are delivered according to specifications, within budget, and on schedule.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets, and report project status to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with internal and external teams, including contractors, regulatory bodies, and vendors, to ensure timely and efficient project execution.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, safety, and quality standards, as well as all relevant codes, regulations, and standards.
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.

Design & Engineering :

  • Oversee the design of water and wastewater treatment plants, pipelines, pumping stations, and other related infrastructure.
  • Perform technical analysis, calculations, and modeling for water and wastewater systems to ensure optimal performance and regulatory compliance.
  • Review engineering designs, drawings, and specifications to ensure alignment with project goals and client requirements.
  • Assist in selecting equipment and materials for water and wastewater projects, ensuring they meet the technical specifications and industry standards.
  • Budget & Cost Management :

  • Prepare cost estimates and budget forecasts for water and wastewater projects.
  • Track and manage project costs, ensuring the project stays within budget.
  • Evaluate bids and contracts and provide recommendations for procurement of services and materials.
  • Quality Control & Assurance :

  • Implement quality control procedures to ensure the highest standards in engineering design, construction, and commissioning of water and wastewater systems.
  • Conduct inspections and testing of systems to ensure performance meets required specifications.
  • Other :

  • Requirements

    What We Need From You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience, a minimum of 5 years’ in engineering roles focused on water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with design software and tools related to water and wastewater engineering.
  • Strong understanding of water treatment processes, wastewater treatment processes, and environmental regulations.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., AWWA, ASCE, EPA regulations).
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills with experience handling large-scale projects.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Familiarity with construction and commissioning practices in the water and wastewater industry.
  • Experience with sustainable and green technologies in water treatment and wastewater management.
  • Familiarity with cost estimation, contract management, and procurement processes.
  • Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and hydraulic modeling software.
  • Working Conditions

    Work is generally performed in a typical office environment. The employee is occasionally required to work within the service area which requires personal protective equipment such as eye and foot protection.
