What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Manager position at Crane Renovation Group?
Crane Renovation Group, a multi-site construction and renovation company, seeks a highly motivated, Accountant Manager with strong fundamental accounting skills. This position will report to the Corporate Controller.
Duties:
- Oversee the full cycle month-end close process, including: 1) Reviewing and auditing journal entries, 2) Review balance sheet reconciliations, 3) Oversee the preparation of the financial of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Lead the accounts payable team and monitor the disbursement process.
- Assist with maintenance and audit of fixed asset software system.
- Supports annual audit by providing information to auditors.
- Meets accounting financial standards by monitoring expenditures, identifying variances, and implementing corrective actions.
- Review accounting processes and identify process improvements that meet the company’s internal control guidelines.
- Ensure company is in compliance with all applicable taxing authorities (sales/use, real estate, personal property, etc.).
- Perform other duties/special projects as assigned.
Qualifications/requirements
- 4-7 years of general ledger experience with 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Construction accounting and/or % of completion revenue recognition experience strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- CPA preferred
- Experience with financial reporting requirements.
- Microsoft Office experience (Excel, Word, Outlook, and Advanced Excel required)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to think strategically and use analytical skills to support business objectives
- Ability to prioritize to meet deadlines and requests.
- Ability to work in and promote a team environment
- Effective in both internal and external verbal and written communications
- Ability to work with management and staff members in multiple offices

- This position will supervise the Staff Accountant roles
