Shop Assistant

Job Title:         Shop Assistant 

Basic Function: Provide support in the completion of administrative and functional tasks to the maintenance shop.

Essential Functions:

Responsible for activities involved in the administrative and organizational tasks of keeping the shop functioning at a high level of efficiency and assisting in operations. The position is also responsible for, inventory, parts tracking, resolving issues, liaison and staff assistance.

Job Duties: Assist in;

•  Maintaining maintenance records

•  Ordering, pick-up/receiving, and issuing parts

•  Stow, inventory, and managing spare parts

•  Processing invoices – code and return to AP for processing

•  Maintain list of equipment OOS – update as equipment is put back into service.

•  Maintain GPS tracking units. Walk staff through steps to re-boot, order replacement units if 

necessary – keep inventory of units coming and going.

•  Other tasks as assigned

Required Travel: Up to 20% for work related travel to/from other

Cranemasters locations.

Immediate Supervisor’s Title:  Shop Manager

Required Skills and Experience:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent education and experience.

2. Strong verbal and written communication skills.

3. Drive for achieving results and ability to convey a sense of urgency when appropriate.

4. Strong organization and administration skills with detail orientation to ensure smooth day-to-day operations and maintain detailed, accurate records.

5. Ability to lift up to 40lbs.

6. Ability to function safely in an industrial environment.

7. Proficient computer skills.

8. Able to read, write and speak English

Physical Demands:

1. This position requires significant work at a desk, but also requires walking, talking, standing and lifting as needed.

2. Requires lifting up to 40 pounds and bending.

3. Works extended hours as workload dictates.

4. Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.

Required Certifications and Licenses:

1. Valid Driver’s License with good driving record

2. Other certifications as may be necessary for accomplishment of assigned responsibilities.
