Job Summary: This position is responsible for selling our products or services, generating leads, building customer relationships, and meeting sales targets. This position requires strong communication, negotiation, and customer service skills to help achieve the company's sales goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Customer Sales and Services Management to develop and implement target account specific objectives, strategies, and action plans.
- Identify potential customers through research, networking, and following up on leads.
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with clients and provide excellent customer service.
- Understand the company's products/services and be able to clearly communicate their benefits and features.
- Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to prospective clients.
- Manage the entire sales process from prospecting to closing, ensuring high-quality follow-up with clients.
- Negotiate contracts and terms, close sales, and process orders efficiently.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor products, and customer feedback to improve sales tactics.
- Document sales activities, update CRM systems, and prepare reports for management on sales goals and targets.
- Identify prospective customers by using business directories, following leads from existing clients, participating in organizations, and attending trade shows and conferences.
- Answer customers' inquiries regarding products, prices, availability, and product uses.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and communicate this information to management.
- Work with Parts and Service Departments to introduce customers to the other services we provide.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, engineering, or a related field or related industry experience.
- 5 years of experience in sales; preferably in the heavy equipment industry.
- Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets, negotiating deals, and managing key accounts.
- Experience leading and managing sales teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for managing client relationships and team collaboration.
- Strong ability to analyze market trends and sales data to inform decision-making.
- A customer-focused approach with a strong emphasis on satisfaction and retention.
- Ability to address customer issues and provide solutions efficiently.
- Must have a valid drivers license. CDL is preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite of products.
- Proficiency in sales software (CRM).
- Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
