We are looking for an individual who has a strong desire to be part of our team with a passion for not only great beer but cycling as well. We need someone who cares deeply about our patrons and community. We want a self-motivated, hard-working person who will help us develop and expand our taproom sales, while having a great sense of humor, plenty of patience, and a strong work ethic.
Job Description:
- Create and maintain a fun tasting room experience
- Train and manage tap room staff
- Oversee Cost Control and profitability of the taproom: Report Pmix weekly to ownership.
- A strong desire to collaboratively lead the direction of the taproom experience while staying up to date on Market and Industry trends and opportunities.
- Maintain a clean, friendly and welcoming environment for all guests at all times.
- Communicate beer and merchandise needs for inventory
- Ensure proper tracking of Keg and Cases moved to the taproom
- Update POS System (TOAST) with new products and inventory management
- Manage staff schedule and time off requests
- Coordinate events in the taproom
- Maintain a beer server training program and lead all Day One on boarding trainings for new hires
- Engage customers, make sales, and answer questions
- Work with the owners and marketing department to properly market the taproom
- Open and close cash drawers and POS shifts
- Liaison with Cycling Team
- Other duties as assigned
Critical Skills:
- Comfortable being around beer and people who like to drink beer.
- Being able to drink beer legally.
- Having a passion for craft beer and enjoying talking about it.
Kob Requirements:
- Available to work full -time (40 hrs / week), including nights and weekends
- Prior bar / restaurant management experience
- Prior taproom / bartending experience
- Knowledge of craft beer, including basic understanding of beer production (Cicerone Beer Server or similar certification preferred)
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Attention to detail and ability to multi-task
- Ability to anticipate and proactively address problems in a fast -paced environment
- Demonstrated leadership
- Positive attitude and ability to work with a diverse set of people
- Basic familiarity with tablet-based POS systems (TOAST), Inventory Management software (Ekos) and other web-based / MS Office software
- Aptitude for and desire to learn the mechanical workings of taproom equipment in order to address problems quickly and efficiently
- Grace under pressure
Working conditions:
This position requires an individual who works under a range of circumstances, including: shift work, weekend work, working with happy, as well as, challenging patrons, working in the fast-paced environment of a crowded taproom, and working within close proximity of an operating brewery (noise, heavy equipment, odors related to the brewing process).
Physical requirements:
The Taproom Manager will likely be required to stand and walk for extended periods of time when overseeing taproom operations and/or serving as alternate beer tender. S/He may also be required to lift boxes 35 -50 lbs and move empty / full kegs with the help of a dolly.
Salary : $40,000 - $70,000
