As a District EC Program Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the educational needs of students with disabilities in Craven County School District. This position requires a strong understanding of special education laws and regulations, as well as excellent collaboration and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support to Exceptional Children Teachers in scheduling student services and coordinating with regular education schedules.
- Assist teachers with scheduling IEP meetings for caseloads and provide targeted compliance intervention as requested by the EC Director.
- Mentor EC teachers in assigned schools and collaborate with administrators on teacher and parent concerns, including compliance requirements.
- Participate in IEP meetings that require fiscal distribution of funds, legal meetings, or state complaint meetings.
Additional Responsibilities
- Monitor compliance for transportation as a related service in CECAS/ECATS.
- Serve as a resource for providing assistance with special issues and collaborate with other stakeholders.
- Work in collaboration with others to develop, facilitate, and monitor processes, including NCSIP grant requirements.
- Participate in short and long-term planning, data collection, and assist with Child Counts and LEA self-assessment continuous improvement.
