The District EC Program Specialist is responsible for providing support to Exceptional Children Teachers and collaborating with administrators to ensure compliance with special education laws and regulations. This position requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with EC Teachers to schedule student services and coordinate with regular education schedules.
- Assist with scheduling IEP meetings and provide targeted compliance intervention as requested by the EC Director.
- Mentor EC Teachers in assigned schools and participate in IEP meetings that require fiscal distribution of funds or legal meetings.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Teaching certification in Special Education.
- Master's degree preferred but not required.
- 7-10 years teaching experience.
- Extensive knowledge of IDEA and working with students with disabilities.
