Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Responsibilities but not limited to:
- Supports and promotes the nursing department functions on the unit by following established policies and procedures
- Is knowledgeable and responds to nursing and building emergencies according to established policy and procedure.
- Assigns duties and responsibilities to unit staff members in a manner that facilities optimum delivery of care to residents
- Conducts regular rounds on the unit and notifies appropriate personnel of findings
- Supervise and evaluate all direct resident care
- Obtain report from nurse being relieved and record sufficient information to implement appropriate follow-up action as necessary
- Identify safety hazards and initiate corrective action immediately
- Identify resident problems and emergency situations and initiate emergency care and life-saving measures in the absence of a physician
- Participate in facility education and in-service programs
- Provide supervision to Nursing Assistant providing direct resident care. Provide resident care as necessary
- Perform comprehensive assessment of residents as assigned
- Promptly report changes in resident conditions to RN Supervisor, Physician, Director of Nursing and responsible party. Take follow-up action as necessary
Qualifications:
- Active LPN license in the state of Pennsylvania
- Ability to multi-task
- Strong patient assessment skills
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Demonstrate clinical competency
