What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Psychologist position at Crawford Central School District Instructional Support Center?
This is a School Psychologist Position covering until the end of June at a daily rate.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A valid Pennsylvania Certification – School Psychologist
REPORTS TO: Building Principal and Director of Special Services
JOB GOAL: To apply the principles of psychology to meeting the learning, emotional and social needs of students.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides efficient and timely management of referred cases involving students from kindergarten through twelfth grade.
- Implements psychological procedures within ethical and professional guidelines.
- Utilizes criteria set forth by state mandates in the identification of exceptional children.
- Provides psycho diagnostic evaluation to students (K-12) for the purpose of integrating knowledge related to intellectual functioning, perceptual maturity, personal adjustment, motivation and learning style.
- Provides written reports of the psycho diagnostic evaluation, interpretation and recommendations for consideration by the multidisciplinary team with required timelines.
- Consults with school personnel and parents regarding the application of knowledge related to child development, the learning process, emotional and behavioral components of learning and adjustment, educational systems, group process, etc.
- Consults with outside agencies for resources to serve district students.
- Consults with physicians in coordinating psychological and physiological aspects of some learning processes.
- Provides education to parents that involve a variety of topics relative to individual growth and development.
- Provides informative presentations and staffing to teacher of students on topics that meet developmental needs.
- Integrates knowledge in the field of educational psychology with district goals through participation in committee membership.
- Provides crisis intervention in situations that involve extreme or dangerous behavioral reactions, potential suicide, etc.
- Prepares a yearly budget to meet the needs of the department including the replenishing of consumable materials, updating test materials, provision of texts, journals, etc., that provide current information on trends and research within the field, etc.
- Such other duties as may be assigned by the Director of Special Services.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and benefits to be determined in accordance with the negotiated agreement between the Crawford Central Educational Association and the Crawford Central Board of School Directors
