- Conduct intake assessments for athletes as warranted.
- Evaluate athlete injuries, conditions, and illnesses during events, practices, and established clinic trainer hours by mutual agreement with athletes, the Athletic Director, and CCMH.
- Develop customized treatment plans and make appropriate recommendations for continued care, including location of care at the school facility or outpatient facility in agreement with the athlete and family.
- Communicate with physicians regarding diagnostic test results.
- Work effectively as part of the interdisciplinary rehabilitation team, including, but not limited to, athletes and families, physical and occupational therapists, chiropractors, physicians, coaches, and local athletic director for optimum athlete and bi-annual physical exams as appropriate.
- Provide pre-practice and post-practice treatment and coverage as warranted.
- Attend sports events to provide needed on-site assessment and care as coordinated with the Athletic Director and Director of Rehab, potentially including, but not limited to home events for:
- MS, 9th, JV, and Varsity Football
- 9th, JV, and Varsity Volleyball
- MS, JV, and Varsity Cross-Country
- JV and Varsity Basketball
- JV and Varsity Track and Field
- JV and Varsity Soccer
- JV and Varsity Baseball
- JV and Varsity Softball
- MS, JV, and Varsity Wrestling
- Coordinate annual and bi-annual physical exams as appropriate.
- Maintain medical records for all athletes in conjunction with school policies.
- Assist in development of training, injury prevention, and athletic performance programs.
- Assist in development of community wellness programs and events.
- Maintains and enhances personal knowledge as well as promoting professional standards in athletic training.
- Attends all required Safety Training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, specific job-related hazards.
- Follows the hospital exposure control plans/bloodborne and airborne pathogens.
- Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.
- Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a team inter- and intra- departmentally to facilitate the department’s ability to meet its goals and objectives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Complete annual education requirements.
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.

- Maintain regulatory requirements, including all state, federal and local regulations.

- Attend regular staff meetings and in-services.
- Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training.
- Current certification through the National Athletic Trainers’ Association.
- A Master’s Degree in athletic training, healthcare, education, or business is preferred.
- 2 years of experience working in athletic training in an applicable setting is preferred.
- BLS certification required.
- Some local travel required.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
