What are the responsibilities and job description for the Receptionist position at Crawford County Health Department?
Hours: This full-time position is 36 hrs/week Monday through Thursday (could include occasional evening, Friday, or weekend hours). Regular hours of operation are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday with extended hours until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

The receptionist is responsible for the receipt and routing of information coming into the agency including the greeting of visitors, answering and routing incoming telephone calls and messages, and clerical duties.
Essential Functions:
- Answers agency phones, obtaining information concerning the nature of the call and routes calls to appropriate staff members.
- Courteously greets individuals, assesses purposes of visit, adds or verifies demographics and insurance (if applicable).
- Refers clients to appropriate providers within the community for services needed.
- Schedules client appointments.
- Performs WIC clerical duties.
- Performs filing and record keeping duties as needed.
- Ensures appropriate consent forms are completed and signed by clients.
- Provides clerical and administrative support to the department through accurate and timely preparation of reports and correspondence.
- Receives, records, and balances daily payments received at time of services.
- Work scheduled immunization clinics including late Tuesday evenings and added seasonal clinics.
- Serve as receptionist for laboratory program as needed.
- Shows courtesy to clients, vendors, staff, and other associates at all times.
Qualifications:
- Excellent computer and organizational skills.
- Knowledgeable in use of office equipment.
- Professional experience in public health programs preferred.
- Requires demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with clients, other providers, and the community.
- Requires the ability to interact with administration, boards, public and staff in friendly, cooperative, confidential and professional manner at all times.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently operate computer.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.
- Occasionally standing for long periods of time.
