What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinic Nurse Lead position at Crawford County Memorial Hospital?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Decision making and problem solving in concert with the organization’s mission and values.

- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide service/care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
- Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws and regulations, the Compliance Accountability Program, Code of Ethics, as well as other policies and procedures.
- Participates and implements standardized clinical policies and procedures, operating systems and workloads to facilitate/improve productivity of nursing staff.
- Participates in the hiring, orienting, training and evaluation of clinical personnel.
- Coordinates and schedules nursing staff appropriately in conjunction with the providers on a weekly basis.
- Monitors equipment used in patient care to ensure a safe working environment.
- Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies, licensing boards and RHC regulations and standards.
- Provides assistance as needed in the full scope of nursing duties and assists with patient education/instruction.
- In conjunction with the physicians and Clinic Director, ensures that an appropriate working and patient care environment is maintained.
- Conducts inventory process.
- Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of information pertaining to clients, physicians, and employees.
- Ensures sufficient supplies are ordered and maintained for efficient operations of the clinic including immunizations.
- Demonstrates general working knowledge of computers and department specific software (i.e. word, excel, internet, IRIS, Clinic and Hospital EMR/EHR, etc.)
- Acts as the EMS Superuser.
- Is knowledgeable of and actively participates in improving patient safety and reducing risk to patients. Complies with Safety and Infection Control Policies and Procedures.
- Attends all required Safety Training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety and specific job-related hazards.
- Follows the Hospital Exposure Control Plans/Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogens.
- Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.
- Adjusts medical staffing based on patient volumes.
- Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department/unit team inter- and intra- departmentally to facilitate the department’s/unit’s ability to meet its goals and objectives.

Professional Requirements:
- Complete annual education requirements.
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.

Job Requirements:
- Current Iowa Registered Nurse Licensure.
- Requires a minimum of three to five years pervious clinic experience.
- Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must have general working knowledge of computers and department specific software (i.e. word, excel, bed tracking, internet, med aide, etc.).
