Laundry Attendant

Job Overview:

As a Launderer, you will be responsible for efficiently washing, drying, and sorting laundry items to prepare them for folding. You will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and efficiency within the laundry facility.

Responsibilities:

• Wash Laundry Items: Operate commercial washing machines to clean various types of laundry items, including clothes, linens, towels, and other fabrics, according to specified instructions and guidelines.
• Handle Stains: Treat stains and heavily soiled items using appropriate stain removal techniques and products before washing.
• Select Proper Settings: Adjust wash cycles, water temperature, and detergent levels based on customer specifications.
• Dry Laundry Items: Transfer washed items to commercial dryers and operate them to dry laundry thoroughly, adhering to recommended drying times and temperature settings.
• Fold Preparation: Prepare sorted laundry items for folding by grouping them according to type.
• Maintain Equipment: Perform routine maintenance tasks on washing and drying equipment, such as cleaning lint traps, filters, and machine exteriors, to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
• Adhere to Safety Regulations: Follow safety protocols and guidelines when operating laundry equipment and handling chemicals to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
• Report Issues: Report any equipment malfunctions, maintenance needs, or safety concerns to supervisors promptly.

Requirements:

• Knowledge of Laundry Operations: Familiarity with commercial laundry equipment, washing techniques, and stain removal methods.
• Physical Stamina: Capable of standing for extended periods, lifting heavy laundry loads, and performing repetitive tasks.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to pay close attention to detail when inspecting laundered items for quality and sorting them accurately.
• Team Player: Willingness to collaborate with colleagues and support team goals in a fast-paced environment.
• Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet production deadlines.
• Reliability: Punctuality and consistent attendance are essential for this role.
• Basic Math Skills: Basic math skills may be required for measuring detergent and adjusting machine settings.

Preferred Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a commercial laundry or hospitality industry.
• Knowledge of different fabric types and care instructions.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $10.00 - $12.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 35 per week

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Evening shift
