Civil Engineer - Winter Park, FL
Salary: $100k - $130k Base
Schedule: Monday–Friday 9-5pm, On Site
Job Summary
You will play a key role in the development of civil engineering plans, land development designs, and project execution for commercial and residential projects. Working alongside a team of professionals, you will contribute to all phases of the project lifecycle—from initial planning and design to construction oversight and project closeout.
Job Responsibilities: Site Civil Engineering Design: Develop civil engineering plans and specifications for land development projects, including site layout, grading, drainage, and utility plans. Land Entitlement and Permitting: Assist in the preparation of key documentation such as: Drainage analyses and reports Hydraulic modeling for utility sizing Storm sewer design and stormwater management systems Construction plan drafting, detail generation, and quality control Preparation of permit packages for reviewing agencies Construction Support: Communicate with site contractors, provide technical guidance, respond to requests for information (RFI), and assist in project closeout once construction is substantially complete. Technical Assignments: Undertake detailed engineering tasks including planning, calculations, design, preparation of specifications, permitting, and shop drawing review. Stormwater Management: Design and analyze stormwater management systems using applicable software. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices. Team Collaboration: Work closely with architects, contractors, and other key stakeholders to deliver coordinated and high-quality engineering solutions. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all designs adhere to relevant codes, ordinances, and regulations. Coordinate with regulatory agencies for approvals. Project Management: Assist with scheduling, budgeting, and overseeing the implementation of designs in the field.
Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE) required. Licensing: Civil Engineering Intern (Florida Certified E.I.) or Professional Engineer (Florida Licensed P.E.). Ability to obtain P.E. licensure within one year preferred. Experience: Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on land development for commercial and residential projects. Strong knowledge of stormwater management, utility design, and site grading. Technical Skills: Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D for civil design and drafting. Experience with stormwater management software such as ICPR and hydraulic modeling software like WaterCAD. Familiarity with other relevant engineering and permitting software. Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate within a multidisciplinary team. Problem Solving & Analytical Skills: Demonstrated ability to approach complex engineering challenges with practical, cost-effective solutions. Language Skills: Bi-lingual is a plus but not required.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and relevant stormwater management software. Demonstrated experience preparing and reviewing civil design documents, construction plans, and specifications.
