We are actively hiring for a Commercial HVAC Service Technician to join our client’s team in Monrovia. Our client is a commercial mechanical contractor based in Maryland, with a strong presence in the Washington, D.C., and Virginia areas. The company specializes in commercial HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) services, offering a range of solutions from small-scale maintenance tasks to large multi-story construction projects.
Compensation: Hourly Rate: $40 - $55 per hour, negotiable based on experience. Additional Pay: Evening and weekend work compensated with additional pay. Job Responsibilities: Diagnose & Troubleshoot: Assess and troubleshoot various types of HVAC equipment including Rooftop Units, Split Systems, Water-Source Heat Pumps, Air Handlers, VRF Systems, pumps, and other plant equipment. Repair & Replace: Repair and replace HVAC components like coils, motors, belts, boards, relays, actuators, filters, and other parts. Project Management: Schedule and manage materials required to complete service projects and repairs. Installation: Install HVAC equipment, refrigerant piping, control wiring, and control devices as required. Electrical knowledge is a plus but not mandatory. Documentation & Interpretation: Review and interpret equipment submittals, sequences of operations, and scopes of work. Familiarity with blueprints and construction plans is a plus. Task Completion: Execute tasks assigned by the project manager or foreman to a high standard. Communication & Coordination: Liaise with the project management team, the General Contractor, and other construction subcontractors. Leadership: Lead, instruct, and assist junior mechanics and helpers, working in tandem with the leadership team. Tool Ownership: Maintain necessary personal hand and power tools required for HVAC service work.
Requirements: Experience: 7 years of experience as an HVAC service technician (10 years preferred). Availability: Must be available to work Monday through Friday, with flexibility for evenings, nights, and weekends as needed. Communication Skills: Proficient in verbal and written English communication. Physical Ability: Able to work in physically demanding environments, withstand exposure to the elements, and operate in confined spaces and at heights. Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail. Pressure Handling: Ability to work effectively under high-pressure situations. Teamwork: Strong teamwork abilities. Driver's License: Valid driver's license required. Eligibility: Must be eligible to work in the U.S. Employment Type: Full-time, stable position with opportunities for overtime. Work Schedule: Standard 8-hour shifts, Monday to Friday.
