Our client, a mid-sized firm, is hiring a Commercial Real Estate Paralegal for their commercial department, specializing in litigation for hotels, motels, higher-end resorts, and smaller matters such as liquor licenses and residential properties.
Key Responsibilities Conduct title and survey reviews. Assist with commercial real estate purchases, sales, and financing. Support leasing transactions. Handle hotel acquisitions, liquor license transfers, membership interest transfers, planning board applications, etc. Review, negotiate, and draft commercial real estate and business agreements, including title objection letters, leases, loan documents, and MITAs. Organize and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. Collaborate with attorneys and team members to support transactions. Provide administrative support, including document management and correspondence.
Qualifications College degree and/or paralegal certificate. 5 years of commercial real estate law experience. Strong background in commercial real estate transactions, including hotel acquisitions, liquor license transfers, membership interest transfers, and planning board applications. Must have recent (within the last 2-3 years) commercial litigation experience. Expertise in agreements: Proven ability to review, negotiate, and draft commercial real estate and business agreements (title objection letters, leases, loan documents, MITAs). Strong understanding of title and survey reviews, purchases, sales, financing, and leasing. Preferred software experience: Cosmolex or Clio. Billable hours expectation: 1,500 hours/year (approximately 30 hours/week).
