Job Summary
The Corporate Commissioning Engineer will ensure that all newly built and renovated spaces comply with MEP guidelines, are constructed according to these standards, and operate at maximum efficiency when handed over for occupancy.
Job Responsibilities: Project Design: Collaborate with design teams to ensure compliance with MEP guidelines and capital memorandums. Functional Performance Testing: Oversee testing processes, ensuring results are properly documented. Owner Verification: Conduct spot checks and full operational evaluations of MEP systems. Development of MEP Guidelines: Contribute to ongoing improvements in controls sequences, functional performance tests, and installation details. Construction Management: Conduct project site visits throughout construction (typically 6–24 months). Lead coordination meetings with internal and external stakeholders. Monitor project quality, contractor performance, and compliance with contract documents. Ensure proper commissioning procedures to maintain safety and operational efficiency. Evaluate design/construction change requests for cost, time, and standard deviations.
Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree required. Experience: 7 years of commissioning experience on multiple healthcare projects, preferably large and complex. Extensive knowledge of HVAC systems, steam plants, electrical systems, medical gas systems, and building automation in healthcare settings. Familiarity with Joint Commission, OSHA, NFPA, and other healthcare regulations preferred. Certifications: Licensed Mechanical Engineer (PE) or CxA preferred. Travel: Up to 75%.
