Product Manager - HVAC Tools
Location: Lyndhurst, NJ
Work Arrangement: Onsite with 30% Travel
Compensation: $70,000 - $90,000 base salary with a 10% bonus
Job Description
The Product Manager - HVAC Tools is responsible for driving product innovation, planning, and lifecycle management for the HVAC Tools category. This includes executing new product introductions, refining existing products, managing product line extensions, and ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic objectives. The role involves extensive collaboration with Sales, Engineering, and overseas OEM supplier partners to meet revenue and profitability goals.
The Product Manager will leverage market research and supplier capabilities to introduce innovative products, expand the company’s portfolio, and deliver solutions tailored to customer needs. This position requires deep industry knowledge, leadership, and the ability to manage projects from concept to production while maintaining an open line of communication with overseas vendors.
Primary Responsibilities
Product Development & Execution
Lead product development from concept to production. Maintain and control product development schedules. Deliver products that meet or exceed market requirements.
Market Research & Analysis
Conduct competitive analysis, including product teardown, features, pricing, and programs. Prepare market landscape reports and recommend strategies.
Product Lifecycle Management
Own the product roadmap and ensure alignment with company objectives. Deeply understand and manage product lifecycles from conception to retirement.
Collaboration with Engineering & Vendors
Work with Engineering on detailed product specifications, technical requirements, and product testing. Identify and negotiate with OEM suppliers to secure the best costs and agreements. Coordinate with QA to resolve quality-related issues and ensure consistent communication with factories.
Marketing & Sales Support
Develop marketing materials, POP displays, and sales training resources for new products. Conduct internal and external training and ensure user guides are customer-friendly.
Cost Optimization & Continuous Improvement
Work with factories to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve product quality. Support Sales and upper management in resolving product-related issues. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering required; advanced degree is a plus. Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in the HVAC industry with 3 years as a Product Manager. Basic engineering training or equivalent experience. Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Strong communication, presentation, and leadership abilities. Strategic thinker with a detail-oriented approach. Experience in multi-cultural environments and managing remote teams. Bi-lingual (English and Chinese) is a plus. Other: Results-driven, creative, and highly organized. Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver solutions on time. Understanding of P&L statements and product distribution. Additional Information Travel: Approximately 30% travel is required. Compensation: Competitive salary range of $70,000 - $90,000 with a 10% performance bonus.
