The Clinical Coordinator plans, coordinates, facilitates, administers, and monitors clinical education activities on behalf of the academic program. This position works closely with academic and clinical faculty to ensure students receive comprehensive, high-quality clinical training.
Responsibilities
Clinical Education Development and Assessment: Assist the Program Director in developing and assessing the clinical education curriculum. Administer, refine, and improve the clinical education component. Facilitate quality learning experiences for students. Clinical Site Coordination and Implementation: Organize and manage clinical site placements, visits, and evaluations. Select clinical learning environments that align with ethical and professional standards. Maintain and update clinical facility databases, agreements, and compliance documentation. Serve as a liaison between students and clinical facilities. Student Support and Clinical Oversight: Monitor and assess students' performance during clinical education. Provide guidance and support to students and clinical instructors. Conduct meetings with students prior to clinical rotations to discuss policies, procedures, and expectations. Ensure compliance with immunization, health practices, and injury management policies. Prepare clinical rotation assignment schedules. Teach clinical education courses based on expertise and experience. Program Compliance and Administrative Duties: Ensure compliance with clinical site requirements and regulations. Maintain student records, including immunization and physical forms. Track and issue continuing education hours in accordance with state and local laws. Ensure liability protection for students and faculty as required. Education, Experience, and Certifications: Bachelor’s degree required. Four years of field experience in Radiologic Technology. One year of teaching experience from an accredited JRCERT school. ARRT certification required. Essential Skills and Competencies:
Knowledge: Management of discussions among highly educated professionals. Planning and organizing the needs and goals of program faculty. Experience: Academic teaching in higher education. Career college teaching/management experience. Professional or executive education administration experience. Skills: Written Communication: Ability to write clearly and effectively. Oral Communication: Strong presentation and public speaking skills. Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing demands. Problem-Solving: Analytical thinking and ability to develop solutions. Physical Demands & Work Environment: Occasionally lift/move up to 25 pounds. Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
