Job Overview
Our client is looking for a Sales Representative to sell flat roll carbon steel products and address client inquiries and concerns in designated accounts or regions. This position plays a key role in developing and implementing sales strategies, identifying new business opportunities, and building strong relationships with clients and industry stakeholders. This role offers flexibility to be based out of any state.
Location: Huger, SC and surrounding areas. Remote role with travel.
Salary Range: $65-$80k UNCAPPED COMMISSION, OTE $120-$150k Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree preferred; or minimum three (3) years of field sales experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Sales experience in the manufacturing industry required. Steel sales experience required. Qualifications: Proven track record of success in driving sales growth, building client relationships, and closing deals. Strong organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and adhere to budgets. Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to persuade and influence others. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Willingness to travel 75% or more within the U.S., including attending industry events and working a flexible schedule involving significant local/overnight travel. Standard reading, writing, and math skills. Knowledge of steel products or the manufacturing industry. Basic understanding of advertising and sales promotion techniques with a focus on post-sale customer service. Professional appearance and ability to provide a positive, trustworthy image. Strong reasoning skills to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Responsibilities: Identify new customers through phone calls, personal visits, internet research, networking, and business publications to increase sales and expand the customer base. Develop and deliver professional and effective sales presentations by staying informed about company activities, industry trends, and government regulations. Prepare quotes and contracts for potential customers and maintain accurate quote documentation with up-to-date pricing and configurations. Maintain all sales demonstration tools and applications. Ensure accurate processing of customer orders and monitor customer needs to ensure continuous product availability. Provide post-sale customer service to maintain strong client relations and foster additional sales opportunities. Share relevant information that could benefit other team members within the company.
