What are the responsibilities and job description for the Band Teacher - Part Time position at Crawfordsville Community Schools?
Develops, creates, and selects appropriate instructional activities aligned to district curriculum maps for middle school-level band and music to meet the needs of all learners. Directs varying levels of band classes at the middle school level and engages students in musical development. Communicates and collaborates with students, other school staff, and parents. Supervise middle school students in a variety of school settings.
Requirements:
- Supervise and support students in various settings, including classrooms, rehearsals, and performances.
- Prepare and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with the district music curriculum and Indiana state standards.
- Direct instrumental music ensembles including, but not limited to, beginning band, intermediate band, and advanced band.
- Foster musical growth through regular rehearsals, classroom instruction, and public performances.
- Collaborate with fellow educators and team members to align instructional strategies and support school-wide goals.
- Maintain accurate student records, including grades, attendance, and performance assessments.
- Set clear learning objectives and maintain high expectations for student achievement and behavior.
- Take initiative in organizing and executing band-related events, such as concerts, competitions, and community performances.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the school administration.
Certification Requirements:
Valid Indiana Teacher License Fine Arts: Instrumental and General Music (P–12)
