The QC Technician tests finished, in-process, incoming parts, and raw materials for Crazy Aaron's putty, ensuring adherence to QC procedures, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications. Responsibilities include approving products, placing them on hold if necessary, and documenting inspections promptly. Strong attention to detail and prioritization skills are essential in this fast-paced environment.
Conduct Quality Testing: Perform required testing on finished putty, in-process putty, incoming components, and raw materials to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Record test results in the lab notebook and QC database.
- Document and report all non-conforming test results to the QC team.
- Approve and verify reported testing results.
- Place raw materials, finished products, or miscellaneous parts on hold if specifications are not met.
Product Release Assessment: Perform essential tests to evaluate the readiness of finished products, including:
- Visual color assessment
- Flow property evaluation
- Rheological analysis
- Stability testing
Communication & Documentation:
- Document and communicate the status or disposition of in-process materials and finished goods to manufacturing personnel as needed.
- Collaborate with the QC team, production supervisor, and assembly supervisor to address and correct off-spec products identified during production.
Troubleshooting & Process Improvement:
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to non-conforming finished products.
- Conduct thorough inspections of bulk finished putty using AQL (Acceptable Quality Level) sampling plans.
Lab & Equipment Maintenance:
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of laboratory equipment and workspace.
- Follow general housekeeping and safety protocols.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Support other QC functions as assigned by QC Management.
- High school degree required (bachelors degree preferred)
- Proven track record in implementing quality control measures within a dynamic manufacturing environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Must be able to differentiate color and rheological differences between acceptable and unacceptable material, given standard.
- Computer competence to include email, MS Office, also internal databases
- Must have good organizational and record keeping skills
- Ability to make decisions based on results
- Demonstrates a high level of ownership/commitment to achieve results.
- Ability to work a full day on your feet in a very active environment (this is not a desk job) and lift 50 lbs. to shoulder height.
- Must be able to perform activities that include climbing, bending at waist, stooping, and kneeling, crouching, reaching, crawling, handling, feeling, and hearing, talking, and seeing.
- Work environment could include slippery surfaces, noise or vibrations, mechanical hazards, electrical hazards, fumes or odors.
