What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Director - Commercial Mortgage Originations position at CRE Finance Council?
We're seeking a Senior Director for Commercial Mortgage Originations who will take charge of actively seeking out commercial mortgage loan opportunities for a private credit fund. This role involves overseeing all aspects of mortgage origination, including business development / marketing, initial underwriting, due diligence, term sheet negotiation, and loan closing processes. Additionally, the Senior Director will play a role in monitoring and managing their mortgage portfolio and relationships. Some travel may be required.
Required Skills :
- Thorough knowledge of real estate markets and commercial properties, spanning industrial, retail, multi-family, office, hotels and more.
- Exceptional analytical, quantitative, and technical skills, with proficiency in analyzing, underwriting, and forecasting property cash flows and valuations.
- Ability to size and price loans with appropriate structural features, as well as negotiate term sheets.
- Proven track record and experience in commercial mortgage loan origination, due diligence, and loan closing / negotiation processes.
- Strong team player with organizational efficiency, proactiveness, conscientiousness, and a sense of accountability for specific performance and work product.
- Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building, and marketing skills, along with outstanding written and verbal communication and presentation abilities. Creative problem-solving skills.
- Capability to gather, analyze, and interpret real estate market data / trends and financial information independently and proactively interact with borrowers, brokers, property managers, appraisers, attorneys, and other real estate professionals.
- Ability to multitask effectively and respond to changes in workflow, priorities, and workload within a team environment.
Qualifications :
The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's and / or Master's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Accounting, or related disciplines, along with a minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience as a commercial mortgage originator, preferably with a major financial institution or mortgage brokerage company. A successful candidate will demonstrate a proven track record in commercial mortgage loan originations, a strong work ethic, self-motivation, and the ability to thrive in a team setting.
