Senior Legal Counsel

Senior Counsel (New York, NY) : Our client, a leading credit and real estate focused alternative asset management firm with north of $10B AUM, is seeking an attorney to join their growing legal team. This individual will work closely with both the General Counsel and Chief Transaction Counsel.Highlights : Opportunity to join a growing, actively fundraising firm, in a newly created capacity working alongside a talented and lean legal and deal teamNew hire will focus on the structuring and closing of RE loans, as well as the ownership and operation of real properties from both a legal and business standpointHighly visible and interactive role across teams and all levels internallyHybrid work (4 days in) and excellent work / life balance, benefits, and compensationResponsibilities : Structure, close and securitize the firm’s commercial real estate loan originationsTrack closing process and progress of all transactions in houseAssist Asset Management with loan amendments, modifications and workoutsReview and approve loan documentation, purchase and sale agreements and legal diligence prior to every closingReview and approve securitization documentation, including confirmation of related representations and DDQ informationNegotiate warehouse and similar financing arrangements for Firm's assetsDraft and / or review other legal documents, including confidentiality agreements, third party engagement letters, scopes of work, etc.Be a resource to CRE group, with focus on origination deal teams, on issues with legal and other ramificationsQualifications : JD required3 - 6 years of relevant experience in private practiceExperience working on commercial real estate debt and equity transactions and documentsExperience with real estate asset management, including loan modifications, workouts and sales, as well as real property dispositionsKnowledge of corporate structures and documentation, including REIT formationAbility to take initiative / ownership / responsibility of work product#J-18808-Ljbffr
