We're searching for a talented individual to join our Guitar Repair department. This position will give you a chance to work directly with new, used, and vintage music gear, while working collaboratively with other people who live for guitars, basses, amps, effects, making music, and retail sales.

This role requires someone who is skilled and quick at guitar setups and general guitar maintenance - experience doing structural repairs, including fret work, bridge re-glues, crack repairs, and neck resets are a plus but not required for this position. You will be tasked with the responsibility of performing pre-sale setup & repair work to ready instruments for our showroom in addition and will be the final touchpoint for our e-Commerce customers as you set up and inspect every instrument that we ship out. You will have the opportunity to learn about the exciting history of vintage guitars and basses with hands on experience handling and working on these iconic instruments.

Responsibilities:
- Performing basic cleaning, restring, and setup adjustment of fretted instruments
- Identify and troubleshoot issues with fretted instruments pre-sale and post-sale
- Assistance with picking fretted instrument orders each morning
- Work with the shipping department to prioritize outgoing instrument setups
- Keep a detailed log of your setup work and manage quality control checklists on each instrument you work on
- Interact with customers from our retail showroom and online presence to manage specific setup requests
- Provide support for in-house operations across multiple departments
Requirements:
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in a retail environment
- A candidate who is an experienced musician with a passion for gear is preferred
- A desire to learn about vintage guitars and basses
- MI Retail experience is preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- PC Proficient with ability to learn quickly
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving skills
- A positive and upbeat attitude and a proactive mindset
- Experience with various online sales outlets such as Ebay, Amazon, and Reverb is a plus.
