Creatacor, Inc. is currently seeking to hire a full-time 3-D Exhibit Designer.
REPORTING TO: Engineering Manager
OVERALL DESCRIPTION: The technical detailer drafts exhibits from rough or general design drawings, or imports from 3D designs and produces accurate plans (plan, elevation, and isometric), fabrication documents, set-up drawings, utility and communication prints. Ensures the functionality, reliability, safety, efficiency, and cost effectiveness of each exhibit.
RESPONSABILITIES:
- Collaborate with internal teams to provide quality technical engineering documentation and CNC cut files for shop personnel.
- Participate in project kickoff meeting to review designs, estimates and client expectations. Contribute with feedback and construction ideas where improvements can be made.
- Create 3D technical drawings in accordance with established company guidelines and standards for a variety of custom projects.
- Determine fabrication methods and materials.
- Produce detailed construction drawings with accurate and clearly labeled parts, measurements, electrical/lighting, materials & finish specifications.
- Work with Project Manager on refinement of drawings in order to receive production approvals.
- Develop graphic elevations for the design department to use for graphic layouts.
- Generate floor plans as needed (electrical, plumbing, Internet, rigging, etc...) for account teams to use when placing show service orders.
- Generate setup plans for onsite installation teams.
- Collaborate with contracted engineering firms for exhibit structural analysis as needed.
- Extract CNC parts and program cut files for fabrication.
- Demonstrate mechanical, drafting and engineering aptitude.
- Photograph "as built" exhibits for incorporation into setup drawings for clarification.
- Perform drawing maintenance, including updates, revisions, and development of as-built record documents.
- Willingness to work overtime, as needed, to meet project deadlines.
- Support shop build assignments as requested.
- Other duties, as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate Degree or training in CAD field of study from a college or trade school and/or CAD experience in construction (architecture, cabinetry or displays).
- 3 years experience in trade show, museum displays, or event structures or 5 years in construction detailing preferred.
- Must be proficient in 3D modeling in current versions of Vectorworks and AutoCAD.
- Proficiency with CIM-Tech, Solid-CIM, and/or Router-CIM preferred.
- Hands-on shop fabrication experience a plus.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist other departments as needed.
- Communicate independently with clients when directed by Account Executives.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
