Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Day Program Support Professional to join our team. This role involves providing direct support to individuals with varying abilities in a day program setting, ensuring their safety, engagement, and well-being. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, patient, and committed to making a positive impact in the lives of program participants.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct Support: Assist individuals with varying abilities in daily activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and recreational activities.
- Program Implementation: Facilitate and support the implementation of individualized plans, activities, and goals for each participant.
- Community Integration: Support participants in community outings and activities, promoting socialization and engagement.
- Skill Development: Encourage and assist participants in developing life skills, including communication, social skills, and daily living skills.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely records of participant progress, daily activities, and any incidents.
- Safety and Well-being: Ensure a safe and supportive environment for all participants, addressing any behavioral issues with appropriate interventions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with program staff, families, and external service providers to ensure cohesive support for participants.
- Training and Development: Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer skills for documentation and communication
- Physical ability to assist with personal care and mobility needs
- Certifications: CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire.
- Background Check: Successful completion of a background check is required.
Working Conditions
