What are the responsibilities and job description for the Online Computer Science Teacher position at Create & Learn?
This position is open to candidate based in Atlanta, Boston, or Ann Arbor only as it requires 2 weeks in July to be in one of these three cities. The rest of time are all remote online.

In this role you will
- Lead small groups of students in the online classroom using Zoom to teach the curriculum provided by Create & Learn.
- Adapt the delivery of the lessons to support any technical demands that may arise during the session.
- Deliver classes ~1.5 hours each, for a total of 12 hours per week, and you set your own availability.
- Follow up with attendance and messaging to parents via Create & Learn platform.
Our preferred teaching style includes
- Interactive and inquiry-based teaching using online audio and video.
- Confident, effective, and empowering classroom management skills.
- Practice with fostering problem solving, critical thinking, and development of projects and exercises.
- Passionate about computer science education.
Qualifications include
- Bachelor's degree in CS or engineering strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with Python a must have
- Data Science and AI knowledge would be very helpful
- Experience in after school/camp setting and/or leading a classroom preferred
- Access to reliable high-speed Internet access and computer that can support video conferencing.
- Valid teaching credential or background check clearance (U.S. SSN required to initiate background check)
This is a contractor role. Classes are 1 - 1.5 hours each and we require a commitment of at least 15 hours per week to fast track your application.
Competitive hourly pay based on experience and qualifications
Job Type: Part-time on contract.
Flexible Schedule. Choose based on your available hours:
- After school
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
- Summer throughout the day
Experience:
- Teaching: 1 year (Preferred)
- Coding: 2 years (Required)
Work Location: Remote, except two weeks this July to teach in person in Boston, Ann Arbor, or Atlanta
Salary : $25 - $35
