JOB SUMMARY:

The Project Engineer is a key member of the Critical Facilities team and is essential in ensuring the successful completion of complex projects. This position is responsible for designing and engineering control systems hardware and creating controls programming to meet specific project plans, specifications, and contract documents. Additional responsibilities include analyzing system performance at a complete systems and campus level, ensuring documentation is accurate and complete, and interfacing directly with customers, subcontractors, suppliers, and other members of the project team. Direct project financial responsibility increases with tenure in this position, including use of company project management financial reports. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·        Responsibility for complete controls system design

·        Programming of complex DDC (Direct Digital Controls) and PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems to meet project specifications and mechanical systems requirements

·        Development of end-user graphical interface to meet customer needs

·        Managing the start-up process for building control systems, including overseeing technician work plans and processes

·        Managing the commissioning process for building control systems

·        Keeping accurate records of project conditions, including updating drawing sets and software programs

·        Engineer field changes, and maintain as-built documentation

·        Developing and conducting site-specific owner training

·        Performing project management tasks such as creating job plans, planning and scheduling labor, conducting fiscal analyses, and more

·        Ordering and coordinating for project materials

·        Coordination and execution of Foreign Protocol Integration

·        Managing time to complete assignments on time and within budget

 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

·        Advanced understanding of and skills in creating controls programs

·        Proven skills in analyzing complex information, data, and situations

·        Exceptional interactive and communication skills, including the ability to effectively convey information to others

·        Excellent troubleshooting skills

·        Knowledge of DDC (direct digital control) Theory and Applications

·        Ability to work independently and unsupervised

·        Skilled in the use of AutoCAD and other project-related software

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position requires a combination of working in an office environment and routine visits to project jobsites. Project jobsites present typical construction and outdoor conditions that require the use of personal protective equipment for safety purposes. Lifting and exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds more frequently is required. Must be comfortable climbing a ladder. Small repetitive motions and use of small tools is included.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

·        Annual base salary ranges from $68,000 - $124,000 depending on experience

·        Benefits summary will be provided by recruiter for qualified interviewees

POSITION TYPE AND HOURS

·        Full-time, exempt

·        Typical Monday – Friday working hours with flexibility as needed

·        Local travel required with infrequent out-of-state travel

CREDENTIALS AND EXPERIENCE

·        Engineering undergraduate degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience

·        Computer programming experience

·        Building mechanical systems experience

·        Experience with electronics and basic electrical circuits

 

 

Salary : $68,000 - $124,000
