The Camp Director is responsible for the overall implementation, and management of a camp program, ensuring a safe, engaging, and enriching experience for all participants. This role includes overseeing staff, monitoring programming, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and fostering a positive camp culture. The Camp Director works closely with staff, parents, and campers to create a memorable and impactful camp experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee camp activities, ensuring a balanced mix of recreation, education, and personal development.
- Supervise campers and camp staff.
- Foster a positive and collaborative camp culture that prioritizes safety, inclusivity, and fun.
- Conduct regular staff meetings, provide professional development, and ensure accountability.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for parents and guardians, addressing concerns and ensuring effective communication.
- Promote a welcoming and supportive environment where all campers feel valued and included.
- Handle behavioral or disciplinary issues in a fair and consistent manner.
- Ensure all camp activities comply with health, safety, and licensing regulations.
- Develop and implement emergency procedures, training staff accordingly.
- Experience in camp management, youth programming, or leadership roles.
