What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Assistant Teacher position at Creating Kids at the CT Children's Museum?
Creating Kids at the Connecticut Children's Museum is seeking a part-time ASSISTANT TEACHER to support our classrooms. If you love kids, books, bugs and hugs, come work part-time (up to 30 hours/week) with a team of amazing teachers in a small, innovative, inclusive, and arts-rich child care center connected to a children's museum.
Duties
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Support children, families, and colleagues in their development.
- Foster communication with parents and support their involvement in the Center.
- Help develop and implement a creative, inclusive, and cross-cultural curriculum based on the Theory of Multiple Intelligences and the CT Early Learning and Development Standards.
- Help create and maintain the physical environment.
- Complete any written documentation in a timely manner.
- Participate in center wide and staff-based activities.
- Honor the ideals and principles of the NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct and Statement of Commitment.
- Participate in supervision activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues.
Hours per week (up to 30 hours per week) dependent on candidate availability and background / experience.
Requirements
Candidates should love to color "outside the lines." A sense of humor is a must!
