Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of patient care, particularly in settings such as geriatrics, outpatient care, and trauma centers. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by delivering personalized care and support.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Monitor and record clients' health status and report any changes to healthcare professionals.
- Help with mobility and transportation needs, ensuring safety during transfers.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams in various settings such as Level I and Level II Trauma Centers, teaching hospitals, and outpatient facilities to ensure comprehensive care.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to emergency medicine and hospital medicine.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Knowledge of geriatrics and experience working in a Level I or Level II Trauma Center is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team, including emergency medicine professionals and hospital staff.
- Compassionate nature with a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
- Certification in CPR or First Aid is a plus but not required at the time of application.
