Creative Alternatives, Inc. is hiring an ISFC (Intensive Services Foster Care) Support Counselor to work with our emotionally disturbed/foster care children.
This position is full-time, 30-40 hours weekly. Saturday and Sunday availability required, with additional days during the week.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Service, Education or related field and a minimum of six months experience working with emotionally disturbed/foster care children.
- Or an AA Degree with a minimum of one year experience working with emotionally disturbed/foster care children.
- Valid California driver's license.
- Good driving record; Department of Motor Vehicles printout required.
- Meet all state licensing and insurance requirements.
- Current first aid and CPR certification.
- Successful completion of LIC 503 Health Screening Report, including a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds.

- Able to produce clearance and concise documentation.
- Must develop a strong understanding of Community Care Licensing regulations.
- Must establish and maintain a professional rapport with outside agencies.
- Able to provide constructive solutions to business related issues.
- Able to achieve and maintain growth and successful functioning of a program.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in the daily function of the ISFC program, ensure proper documentation is maintained, enforce program guidelines and support the social worker's agenda and appointments.
- Maintain records, files and documentation pertinent to the ISFC program.
- Set limits and consequences appropriate to the children and promote social development.
- Maintain rules, schedules and routines for the children.
- Provide a positive role model.
- Transport clients in company and personal vehicles.
- Advise FFA Director and Supervising Social Worker of all matters pertaining to the ISFC program.
- Participate in crisis intervention as necessary.
- Facilitate children's school programs as appropriate.
- Protect the rights and dignity of each child.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
