Art Director - Remote & Through 2025!
Location: REMOTE! Although, EST hours please.
Hours per week: 40 hours p/w
Duration: Through 2025
Rate / Salary Range: $40-$50 per hour
Timeline for hire: 2 rounds of interviews; early May start
Position Overview
Our EdTech client (they're awesome!!) is revamping their K-2 educational coursework. No need to have done this exact type of deliverable in the past, but someone with exposure to EdTech, accessibility in design, kids' content, and digital design will do well here. Bonus points if you have any illustration chops to add to the revamp! The Art Director will lead their design team and drive the visual direction for these high volume projects.
You will collaborate with and provide direction to the team's design producer, photo editor, and contracted illustrators, participate in concept development and spec writing with editorial, design, and producer teams, use iterative and collaborative design techniques to transform new concepts via storyboards/ sketches/ wireframes and prototypes. Additionally, you'll keep accessibility top of mind in all design work, ensuring all designs are highly engaging, and relevant to students of various abilities and varied demographics such as gender, ethnicity, and age

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the creative team in the development of visual concepts and design solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of design with project goals and objectives.
- Oversee the production of design materials, ensuring high quality and adherence to brand guidelines.
- Mentor and guide junior designers, providing constructive feedback to foster their growth.
- Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate innovative design practices into projects.
- =Significant experience in art direction and creating visual content.
- Strong visual design, illustration, and art direction skills.
- Ability to use research to drive creative decisions.
- Proven ability to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Adobe CC (Photoshop, Illustrator) and experience with Sketch, Figma, and/or Adobe XD.
