Conversational Designer

Our financial services client in Vienna, VA is looking for a Conversational Designer to join their team on a 12 month contract. This position is hybrid and you are required to be onsite 2 days a week. The clients working hours are 8am-4:30pm.

You will have experience creating engaging, user-centric conversational experiences for digital products and services.

Duties Of The Conversational Designer

• Design end-to-end conversation flows for chatbots and other conversational interfaces like IVR.
• Write conversational content that aligns with our brand voice and user needs.
• Work closely with product managers, engineers, and researchers to define and implement conversation strategies.
• Use data, user research, and testing to iterate and improve conversations over time.
• Define intents, utterances, and response logic for AI/NLU systems.
• Establish and update the conversation design guidelines and best practices.
• Advocate for the user and promote accessibility and inclusivity in language.
  
  

Requirements Of The Conversational Designer

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in conversation design.
• Experience creating conversational experiences for digital products and services
• Portfolio highlighting conversational work (chat, voice, or multimodal).
• Excellent writing and editing skills with an ear for natural-sounding language.
• Must have a strong understanding of design thinking, user experience principles, and accessibility standards.
• Familiarity with conversational AI platforms (e.g., Dialogflow, Rasa, IBM Watson, Voiceflow, etc.).
• Experience working in a highly regulated space is highly preferred
