Our global news client is looking for a Producer to join their team! This hybrid, 5 month assignment is ideal for flexible candidates willing to work 1pm - 9pm EST.
Candidates can sit in Los Angeles, Burbank, New York, Hudson Yards, Atlanta, or Washington DC.
The ideal candidate is a video-first storyteller who thrives in a fast-paced news environment and enjoys the challenge of short-form editing. They are a reporter who values accuracy and fairness; a team player willing to jump in and help at a moment's notice. They should have extensive experience working independently, writing scripts and editing projects. They can assess the news value of a story and use data to predict audience interest. A love of news and creative mindset are a must, along with an ability to navigate a large deadline-driven organization.

Job Responsibilities
- Researching, writing scripts and editing video for all digital platforms
- Finding sharp angles on news stories
- Monitoring breaking news, live events and search/social trends
- Brainstorming and regularly generating story ideas
- Shooting video in-house and occasionally working with producers in the field on breaking news and news feature stories
- Experimenting with new video formats on multiple platforms; finding ways to creatively show and explain the news
- Coordinating with writers and producers around the world
- 3-4 years experience writing for news or on a deadline
- Video Editing experience in Premiere Pro
- Demonstrated ability to produce quality videos in a tight deadline.
- 3-4 years experience working in News.
- BA or higher in journalism, or similar field.
- Experience with National News brand.
- Strong editorial judgement and an avid news consumer
- Experience pitching daily stories, reporting and fact-checking
- Organization skills including media management
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays, etc. as needed
