Teen Parent Connection (TPC), a program of CCS, offers strength-based, person-centered support for young parents in foster care. Through prevention, intervention, and treatment services, TPC helps young parents navigate the challenges of parenthood while developing the skills needed for long-term stability and success.
Position Overview:
As a TPC Life Coach, you will play a vital role in empowering young parents in foster care by providing individualized coaching and advocacy. This position focuses on parent education, life skills development, educational advocacy, and parent-child bonding activities to promote positive outcomes for both parents and their children. Working primarily in the community, the Life Coach connects young parents with essential resources and ensures they receive the support they need to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one coaching and mentorship tailored to the unique needs of young parents in foster care.
- Assist with parenting education, life skills training, and educational advocacy to support self-sufficiency.
- Facilitate parent-child bonding activities, promoting healthy relationships and family stability.
- Connect parents with community resources to address their vocational, educational, and emotional needs.
- Advocate for youth rights and responsibilities, ensuring access to necessary services.
- Conduct in-home and community-based sessions, requiring travel to various locations.
- Maintain accurate case documentation and effectively manage time to meet program goals.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required.
- Strong understanding of teenagers and the challenges faced by young parents in foster care.
- Knowledge of community resources and support services for young parents.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and insurance.
Compensation & Benefits:
- $28 per hour
- Mileage reimbursement
