Creative Dining Services is looking for a friendly, experienced Cook to join our dining services team on the Grand Rapids Community College campus. Our cooks are responsible for ensuring that high-quality, properly seasoned, nutritious food is being provided throughout the operation. This role will spend time in both the front- and back-of-house areas, helping with daily prep tasks as well as serving guests in the GRCC campus cafeteria. Experience in operating, cleaning and maintaining deep fryers would be a big plus here!
This position has part-time or full-time possibilities.
Enjoy a set schedule - typically Monday through Thursday, with summers off and time off over the winter holidays.
Core Responsibilities:
- Time food production such that all food is ready at the time of service
- Prepare food items according to established recipes and menus in a manner in which preserves food freshness, quality and appeal
- Maintain a safe, sanitary work area at all times
- Store food items according to established standards of practice; utilize proper labeling and dating
- Interact with guests as their food is being prepared
- Putting away/Pulling stock, cleaning fry equipment as needed
