Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Mortgage Processor to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the loan processing workflow, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines. You will play a crucial part in facilitating the mortgage process, from application through to closing, while providing exceptional service to both clients and internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Review and verify loan applications for accuracy and completeness.
- Gather necessary documentation from borrowers and third parties.
- Assist with Processing loans in accordance with FNMA guidelines and TILA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with clients, lenders, and real estate agents throughout the loan process.
- Ensure compliance with Fair Housing regulations during all interactions.
- Collaborate with underwriting teams to resolve any issues that may arise during processing.
- Maintain organized records of all transactions and communications related to each loan file.
- Assist in the preparation of closing documents and coordinate with escrow agents as needed.
- Stay updated on industry trends, changes in regulations, and best practices in mortgage processing.
Experience
- Proven experience in loan origination or mortgage processing within the financial services industry is preferred.
- Familiarity with FNMA guidelines, TILA regulations, Fair Housing regulations, and underwriting processes is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of escrow procedures and mortgage servicing is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to facilitate clear interactions with clients and team members.
