Our client, a respected company in the construction and design-build space, is seeking a hands-on Accountant/Controller to manage day-to-day financial operations and support long-term strategic growth. This role is crucial to maintaining accurate, timely, and insightful financial data that informs key business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoice processing, reconciliations, and client billing
- Oversee payroll processing, including PTO, commissions, benefits, and reporting
- Prepare monthly financial reports, project-level reporting, and accrual-based statements
- Assist with tax compliance (sales/use tax, jurisdictional filings, etc.)
- Maintain banking and cash flow activities, including reconciliations and deposits
- Lead forecasting, budgeting, and strategic financial planning
- Monitor insurance documentation and reporting (health, liability, subcontractor)
- Ideally 2–7 years of accounting experience (public or private)
- 1 years of experience in construction or a related industry preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage both transactional work and higher-level financial strategy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in accounting software and Excel
- A collaborative mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- The ability to build efficient processes and ensure financial accuracy
