They’re looking for an Assistant Controller who is detail-oriented, proactive, and ready to take ownership of financial operations. What We Know About The Opportunity

• We know that you'll be working on a team of 15 in finance (quite a large team!) and reporting to the Controller
• The controller has strong tenure, and is not a micromanager
• We know they have policies in place for all new hires to reference in the Accounting Department
• We know the hours are flexible, though they prefer employees to start by 8:30 (could start as late as 9 AM)
• They do offer 12 holidays which we were impressed with!
• We know they have Peoplesoft as their accounting system, but are open to training folks who have never used it

Key Responsibilities

• The Assistant Controller will assist the Controller in overseeing daily accounting operations
• Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and reconciliations
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements
• Support month-end and year-end close processes
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis efforts
• Collaborate with auditors and external tax professionals
• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency
  
  

Preferred Qualifications Of The Assistant Controller

• 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
• CPA or CMA preferred but not required
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
• Proficiency in ERP/accounting software (Peoplesoft preferred)
• Excellent problem-solving and leadership skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment
