Responsibilities
The Controller will report directly to the CFO and oversee the organization's accounting functions. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Manage daily accounting activities performed by administrative staff, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of the monthly accounting close process and review parent company financials for GAAP compliance.
- Reconcile banking transactions within the general ledger for each entity and account.
- Ensure transactions are recorded to the correct entity and cost center.
- Prepare and reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts, including bank, fixed assets, inventory, prepaids, expense accruals, intercompany accounts, revenue, and payroll.
- Maintain detailed reconciliations for all legal entities.
- Oversee the fixed asset subledger and prepaid expense schedules.
- Reconcile point-of-sale system activity for food service operations, including tax accruals.
- Assist in preparing financial reporting packages and analysis for business and program leaders.
- Maintain general ledger integrity and accuracy.
- Coordinate external audits and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Ensure timely filing of monthly and quarterly payroll tax and sales tax returns.
- Participate in budgeting and forecasting processes and enter budgets into the general ledger by entity.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 5 years of relevant experience.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (including VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, etc.).
- Experience with QuickBooks Online is required.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and technical accounting principles.
- Experience working with auditors and ensuring financial compliance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Commitment to the mission and values of our Client, demonstrating integrity and ethical conduct in all aspects of work.
Salary : $80,000 - $100,000
