Location: Sioux Falls, SD

Type: Full-Time, Onsite (with occasional remote flexibility)

Compensation: $150,000-$175,000 $10,000 sign-on bonus and relocation assistance

Job Description

A growing organization is seeking a Controller to join their finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting, audits, tax compliance, and driving process improvements across multiple divisions. You’ll work closely with senior leadership to ensure compliance with financial regulations and optimize accounting functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the financial reporting and monthly close process across multiple divisions
• Ensure accurate tax filings, including 990 returns and other related filings
• Oversee internal and external audits to ensure compliance with regulations
• Review financial statements to identify and resolve inconsistencies or errors
• Coordinate with leadership to set financial accounting standards and improve reporting processes
• Manage and mentor a team, ensuring effective performance and compliance with internal controls
• Handle grant, foundation, and research accounting, ensuring accurate and timely reporting
• Lead the preparation of year-end reports and filings, including sales/use tax and property taxes
  
  

Qualifications

• CPA certification required
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5 years of accounting/finance experience, including 2 years of managerial responsibilities
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting systems and tax regulations
• Bonus: Master’s degree or experience with a national accounting firm
