Key Responsibilities Of The Cost Accounting Supervisor
- Supervise two direct reports, providing coaching and performance support
- Maintain accurate cost accounting including WIP, raw materials, and labor hour costing
- Oversee inventory accounting and assist with physical inventory at 2–3 plant locations annually
- Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries and account reconciliations
- Take ownership of the month-end close process
- Analyze data to identify variances and support continuous improvement efforts
- Assist with data validation and testing related to a company-specific system conversion
- Support internal and external audits as needed
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- 5 years of experience with a strong focus in cost accounting
- Proficiency in Excel, including data validation and analysis tools
- Experience preparing journal entries and account reconciliations
- Manufacturing industry experience
- Physical inventory experience across multiple plant sites
- Prior supervisory or team lead experience preferred
