The Senior Accountant will work closely with project managers and leadership to ensure accurate financial tracking and reporting of construction projects.

Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing team. This role is key in managing financial operations related to job costing, fixed assets, and general ledger accounting. The Senior Accountant will work closely with project managers and leadership to ensure accurate financial tracking and reporting of construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee job cost accounting to ensure accurate project tracking, budgeting, and variance analysis.
- Maintain fixed asset schedules, record additions/disposals, and calculate depreciation.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Support the monthly close process including journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals.
- Collaborate with project managers to review and analyze job cost performance.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts related to projects and capital expenditures.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal financial policies.
- Prepare documentation for internal and external audits.
- Continuously evaluate accounting processes and recommend improvements for efficiency and accuracy.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience; construction industry experience strongly preferred.
- Solid understanding of job costing and fixed asset accounting.
- Experience with construction accounting software (e.g., Viewpoint, Sage, Procore, or similar).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with ERP systems.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- CPA certification or progress toward CPA preferred.
