Senior Accountant

Responsibilities

Our client that is a property management and real estate developer both locally and nationwide is looking for a Senior Accountant who will play a key role in the financial operations and reporting. This position will start with a focus on core accounting tasks and gradually transition into more technical responsibilities. Key duties include:

• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, for accurate financial reporting.
• Perform bank reconciliations and oversee cash management processes.
• Assist with financial reporting and analysis, including cash flow management and monthly close processes.
• Support the 30-day close process for complex financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Maintain the fixed assets register and assist with related accounting.
• Provide backup support for the MRI system and collaborate with internal and property teams.
• Utilize tools like Argus, Excel, AvidXchange, and Spreadsheet Server to streamline reporting and data analysis.
• Collaborate with the asset management and property teams to support operations, including entities like Camp David and other properties.
• Work closely with the tax and cost accounting teams to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Provide support for job costing and other accounting functions as needed.
  
  

Ideal Qualifications For The Senior Accountant

• 3 years of accounting experience, Bachelors Degree
• Strong background in real estate accounting, with experience managing complex portfolios that go beyond property management to include construction and multifaceted property operations.
• Proficiency with ERP systems; familiarity with MRI is a significant advantage.
• Demonstrated expertise as an Excel super user, including advanced formulas, data analysis, and integrations.
• Proven ability to navigate and handle the complexities of large-scale operations with numerous properties and diverse accounting requirements.
