- CFS is partnering with a new non profit client in the Baltimore county area. Due to year end, they are hiring a Senior Accountant / Assistant Controller to join their medium sized accounting team on a contract to hire basis
- Organization described as diverse, mission driven, with very friendly staff
- Schedule: M-F 8/9:30am-4:30/6pm, 40 hours per week, flexible hours. This role is fully onsite in Windsor Mill, MD for the first 60-90 days. After that, opportunity for hybrid work schedule (2 days work from home).

- Reports directly to the Controller
- Pay: $70-100K depending heavily on experience
- Perform all day-to-day accounting activities for the organization, including journal entries for the monthly close, accruals, prepaids, expenses, income statements, and account reconciliations.
- Manage reconciliations and month-end processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Build and generate reports using Sage Intacct.
- Collaborate with various departments to gather and analyze financial data, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Assist in the preparation for audits for fiscal year end June 2025.
- Other duties as needed to assist with the project.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or related required
- Must have experience using Sage Intacct
- Experience building reports in an ERP system, ideally Sage Intacct, highly preferred
- Experience with ADP a plus
- Non profit accounting experience highly preferred
- Proficient Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookup, etc.) required
- Strong problem solving skills, analytical mindset, comfortable working in a paper heavy environment and an organization going through changes
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check
