- The Company: $10M privately held subcontractor (HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical) with 2 offices South of Boston. They specialize in both residential and commercial work.
- Growth: The company’s revenue has doubled over the past 2 years and is expected to continue on that trajectory over the next year through an acquisition.
- The Opportunity: As the company continues to expand, the Controller will have the opportunity to scale the department for the organization’s growth.
- The Exposure: Reporting to the COO, the Controller will play a pivotal role in professionalizing the accounting function through process improvements; implementation of policies, procedures and system; and identification of cost savings initiatives, increase profits, and affect change.
- Responsible for all day-to-day accounting including cash management
- In collaboration with the Project Managers, responsible for job costing, financial reporting and budgeting
- Manage multi-entity financial reporting
- Prepare monthly AIA billing
- Develop and monitor WIP schedules
- Analyze and relay critical financial information necessary for the development and success of multiple projects
- Responsible for initiating new processes and procedures aimed at creating efficiency
- Make proactive decisions based on experience and company needs
- Lead system and process improvement for accounting and related areas
- Evaluate company financial performance and coordinate for tax and audit with external parties.
- Ensure regulatory compliance for recording and reporting
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent preferred
- 5 years of Construction Accounting experience with a strong overview of AP, AR & Billing
- Advanced Excel skills
